WORKSHOP $45: Following the demo stay and build upon the basic techniques with this Hands-On “Make & Take” workshop! She will show special techniques and advanced applications -- including the use of gesso, hand sanitizer mono prints, resist techniques and even cool effects using stencils. Alcohol ink is a perfect medium for the artist wishing to "loosen up" and experiment. It is also possible to achieved controlled and tight compositions.
FEE $45 Materials Provided! Students should bring an apron or wear clothes they can get colorful. Bring a favorite stencil if you would like.

This two day workshop will provide students with the basic color theory and practical knowledge needed to embark on a solvent-free oil painting practice of their own! Students will learn to mix colors and mix media using the unique properties of Holbien's Duo Aqua Oils. At least one painting will be completed during the workshop, and students will leave with handmade color resources for selecting an individual palette after the course is over. Students should bring their own brushes and palette knives. All other materials will be provided.

In this printmaking workshop, participants will learn drypoint (visually similar to etching) and monotype (visually similar to painting/screenprint) techniques using a small etching press. Utilizing the rich colors of Gamblin and Graphic Chemical printmaking inks, students will create a unique, full-color, multiple layer print(s) full of detail, pattern, texture and color blends! Students should come with some sketches/photographs of desired images prepared for the workshop, all other materials are provided.

This is a two day, 10 hour, hands on workshop. Six hours on Sat. (with a 1 hour lunch break) and four hours on Sun 1 to 5 PM. Artist Mike McChesney will help you learn how to layout your image by projecting it with an Artograph Digital Projector or from your drawing or photograph by using the tile method. How to put down the base layers and background, refine your image, the use of overpainting and finishing with high lights.

Students are responsible for and will need to bring the following:
An image, digital(on a USB Flashdrive) or a photograph or a drawing.
A printed reference photograph, to work from.
Painting supplies including: pencils, paints, solvents, canvas(stretched) or panel board (recommended to work at a size that is able to be finished in 2 days), brushes, paper towels and anything you will need to produce an image.
Suggested color palette:
Gamblin Artist oils
Titanium White, Ivory Black, Phthalo Blue, Phthalo Green, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Napthol Red, Quinacridone Red, Dioxazine Purple, Ultramarine Blue Burnt Sienna, and Burnt Umber
