Pastel is a very old medium that many people are unaware how archival this process can be. There are pastels that still exist in museums from the 18th century. Come paint for a few hours to learn the process of setting up a subject, blocking in the composition, and painting from start to finish in the exciting medium of Pastel. We will be painting pets in portrait style. Pastel is a very immediate medium, so let me teach you the many ways that pastel can be mastered. Images will be provided but you can bring your own if you like.

About Michelle Montes
Michelle Montes is a professional fine artist. She has her BFA and MFA in Painting, studio practice, and Art History . She was a Professor of Art teaching as an adjunct at schools like Penn State, and Marywood University. She became an expert in proper uses of artist materials working for such companies as Sennelier, M.Graham and Co., Maimeri, Daler-Rowney, Robert Simmons Brushes, Princeton Brushes, Fabriano Paper, Strathmore Paper, Awagami Paper, Cretacolor, Lyra, Dixon-Ticonderoga, and DAS Clay. Michelle continues teaching online and maintains her studio practice working in every medium/subject matter.
