Skeletal Anatomy - Saturday October 18th With Derek Leka

In this observational drawing class, we will discuss and analyze the basic structures of the skeleton as relates to human activities and movements. The structure of the skull will be covered in detail including eye and nose shape and placement. Using our full size plastic anatomical skeleton you will observe how the three major shapes being the skull, ribcage, and pelvis may twist and turn but do not change shape in different positions. Join us for this fun and informative drawing class, appropriate for all skill levels.

Classes are held in our newly renovated downstairs classroom/gallery area next door. All minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult that must remain present for the entirety of the workshop/class. An onsite waiting room is available.

 

 

About Derek Leka

Derek Leka MFA, BFA is an artist, author, and musician from Connecticut. Derek has been teaching for 18 years and has taught in many colleges and universities throughout Ct and NY including Purchase College, Mercy College, and the University of Bridgeport to name a few. Derek had appeared as a visiting lecturer at many top schools throughout New England including Yale, RiSD, Cornell, MassArt, and Boston College.
