The Unique Effects of Encaustic Painting: In Person Class With Leslie Giuliani

Painting with R&F Encaustic Paint, heated beeswax-based paint, has many advantages. The paint hardens almost immediately, allowing for spontaneity without waiting for paint to dry. Images can be transferred onto it in many simple ways. Melting the paint in process can create unusual visual effects. Layers of color can be excavated even after being buried. Textures can be built up very quickly. Collage is easy since wax is an adhesive. Scraped paint can even be reused. We will also see how seamlessly R&F Pigment Stick Oil Paint can complement the process.

About Leslie Giuliani
Leslie Giuliani is an American contemporary artist. Her work combines textiles, encaustic, oil painting and printmaking. She is a Core Support instructor for R&F Handmade Paints. She teaches classes in her Weston, CT studio; at the R&F factory in Kingston, NY and at various locations in the US.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Giuliani received her BFA from The University of Delaware, with further studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. Her work is represented in collections of the Housatonic Museum of Art, the State of CT and many private collections. She was the recipient of an Artist Fellowship Grant from the state of CT for Craft
