Watercolor & Illustration: An In-Person Workshop (Session 1) With Marika Hahn
Ends: 1:00pm
Gaining skill and practice with BRUSHSTROKES is key to watercolor painting. Whether doing tiny details or broad expressive strokes, watercolor lends itself to painting flowers. Using sweeping strokes for the arching stems of the FREESIA, petals will be created with a stroke or two of the #10 watercolor brush. The same brush will be used to create the stamens and small details.
A still life with wallpaper inspired by the art of Matisse will have participants painting patterned cups and a beautifully frosted cupcake. A recent zoom class had participants challenged when it came to painting the frosting. I will do a sketch then a demo which will simplify the method.
Hand done watercolor Lettering will be demonstrated.
The illustrations done in this workshop lend themselves to creating stationery.
